- Press Metal’s Mukah, Sarawak aluminium smelter commences commercial production.

- Sumitomo Corporation, Japan’s third largest trading house, invested in 20% equity interest in the Mukah Aluminium Smelter.

- ‘PMS’ brand aluminium ingots produced by Mukah Aluminium Smelter has successfully listed on the London Metal Exchange as a high-grade primary aluminium.
- The Mukah Aluminium Smelter hits its full production capacity of 120,000MT per annum.
- Kick-starts the development of Phase 2 aluminium smelting plant in Samalaju Industrial Park, Bintulu, Sarawak with a capacity of 320,000MT per annum.
- Total investment value of RM2.2 billion with a workforce of 1,300 employees.
